Welcome to the Oxford County Child Care Registry and Waitlist
The Oxford County Child Care Waitlist is an online registry for licensed child care in Oxford County. This online waitlist eliminates the need to contact multiple child care providers to complete multiple applications. You can apply for several licensed child care options in just one application!
Types of Licensed Child Care Programs
- Centre-based Child Care include child care centres, nursery schools and preschools; all are licensed by the Ministry of Education, Child Care Quality and Assurance Licensing Branch;
- School-based programs include before and after school programs offered to children attending full day kindergarten and also children up to age 13 years; licensed under the Ministry of Education, Child Care Quality Assurance and Licensing Branch;
- Home-based Child Care providers offer care within their own homes. Providers are under contract with a licensing child care agency to offer licensed home child care.
Finding Quality Programs
Licensed child care programs must meet and maintain specific provincial standards as outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act. These standards provide for the health, safety and developmental needs of children. For help on how to find quality child care for your child(ren), visit the Ministry of Education
Child Care Fee Subsidy
Child care fee subsidies are available to eligible parents or guardians who are working or going to school, or families approved through special needs referral and have children 0-12 years of age and under in a licensed child care program. To qualify, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have filed your Federal Tax Return in accordance with Revenue Canada guidelines. Families who qualify will have some or all of their child care costs covered.
Applying for child care fee subsidy is a separate process and is NOT included with your waitlist application. Once you have a licensed child care space for your child, you can apply for fee subsidy by visiting Oxford County Child Care Fee Subsidy.
To complete your application for the child care waitlist you must first create an account
Once your account has been activated, you will need to provide information about you and your family on the application form. The information you provide will be used to suggest child care options. You may place your child on as many lists as you choose. The waitlist is managed by the child care providers. Once a space is available, a child care provider will contact you directly to advise you of the next steps.
